It took quite a lot of work to get the two parts of the resistor together.
I taped the two hales with gaffer tape and glued between them with fast curing epoxy.
Once the tape is removed the tacks of epoxy hold the form together. Next I used long strips of fibreglass tape to form a more permanent bond. After that was dry I added a thicker layer of dyed epoxy mixed with microfibres applied with a squeegee. I used the same material to secure the two PVC pipes at each end.
The final form. A long steel tube passes from end to end between the trestles to keep the PVC pipe in alignment.
